Stone Edge to Barlow Common Side to Unstone - (Chesterfield Round Walk: parts 5 and 6) - 25/06/15 - 11.25 Miles

My final day of the 34 mile Chesterfield Circular Walk.
Written instructions are always my preference on any walk.
Crossing over the Dam at Linacre.
Possibly the hottest day of the year so far ?
The Methodist church at Barlow Common Side marks the start of the final 3 mile section.
Crossing the Dronfield Bypass
Another information board (not available at every section though).
A sea of poppies on the approach to Unstone.
The full guide and instructions for the Chesterfield 34 mile Round Walk, is available at the Chesterfield Visitor Centre for £1.50.
But be warned, this is how your boots might end up.

North Wingfield to Stone Edge - (Chesterfield Round Walk: p4) - 24/06/15 - 6 Miles

So that would be Far Tupton Wood then ....
Just at the point when you think you are lost, one of these pops up.
But the constant navigation, means you cover ground no faster than 2 miles an hour.
But if you see the Crooked Spire in the distance, you know you can't be too far out...
Plus you have these, which tell you where you are, what you're doing, and why you are doing it.

Brimington to Heath to North Wingfield (Chesterfield Round Walk: parts 2 and 3) - 22/06/15 - 10.5 Miles

Waterproofs on, waterproofs off, sort of day.
The easy to carry around instructions for part 2.
Sutton Scarsdale Hall (visitor centre not visible).
All Saints Church at Heath.
Not everyone can keep up the pace.
The not so easy to carry around instructions for part 3.

Monsal Trail Circular (Derbyshire Peak) - 17/06/15 - 5.25 Miles - Helen (Molly)

The postcard view of Monsal viaduct (as appreciated by the grumpy dog)
A choice of routes for both the walker and cyclist.
Everything going well, apart from the on/off drizzle and the cows at the top of the hill.

Tuesday 9 June 2015

Baslow / Birchen Edge circular - (White Peak) - 09/06/15 - 7 Miles

From left to right - where I was going, where I had been, and where I was going afterwards.
Flaming June ?
Nelsons Three Ships in dry dock.
.... and his monument of course.
