Chatsworth / Baslow (Circular) via Pilsley/Hassop/Carver - Derbyshire (Peak District) - 24/03/17 - 10 Miles

Scale model of Chatsworth is left on bridge wall.
The Road to Edensor (or from in this case).
Orange Dalek stands guard over my lunch.
The Little House on the Prairie.
Day of the Triffids.
Are you reading this Cattle ?
Confusing set of instructions ?
One of the oldest and much loved peaks in Derbyshire (whose name sadly escapes me)

Grindleford/Burbage Rocks/Longshaw (circular) - Derbyshire (Peak District) - 15/03/17 - 8.5 Miles

Subsidence at Padley Chapel; or is it ?
Turn right here.
Whilst not officially a Spring day, things are definately on the up.
Angry sausage roll tries to bite me atop of Higger Tor.
It's unusual to see cattle alongside Burbage Rocks.
And here comes another handsome beast.
The sheep overdress for the weather at Longshaw.

Chatsworth / Baslow (Circular) via Gibbet Moor - Derbyshire (Peak District) - 09/03/17 - 8.5 Miles

Chatsworth's jumps are ready for whatever equestrian event comes their way.
They certainly are large chips !
The road (path) to Gibbett Moor.
The path opposite the Robin Hood.
Interesting (and I think old) sign left lying by a tree.
Inside the entrance.

Glen Brown and Tom nam Marbh (Circular) - Cairngorms (Scotland) - 02/03/17 - 4.5 Miles - Helen (Molly)

Or if the title of this post is a bit of a mouthful, try Glenlivet Estate Circular.
This sunken section is a small part of the military road constructed in Strath Avon in 1754.
I like to lead from the front.
with the help of the odd sign or two.
Molly checks out alternative holiday accommodation.
While we all make a mental note to check out the weather before setting off.

Loch Garten / Loch Mallachie (Circular) - Cairngorms (Scotland) - 01/03/17 - 1.75 Miles - Helen (Molly)

Information board at the start of the Green trail.
A crisp chilly afternoon, with fantastic views.
One could almost have been in Rendlesham Forest.
The other side of the information board on the way back.

Creag a Chalamain and Castle Hill (Circular) - Cairngorms (Scotland) - 27/02/17 - 6.5 Miles (approx) - Heleney, Ally, Shelley (Molly and Beeeey)

Utsi's Bridge, at the start of the walk.
I stare at the map book, whilst B Dog stares at the scenery.
Carry on Girls.
We made it to point C, returned to point B (don't ask), before cutting across to point D, following on to point F.
Lochan Dubh Chadha in the foreground, with some sort of skiing thing away in the background.
The three sisters.

Sunday 5 March 2017

Lochanhully / Carrbridge (Circular) - Cairngorms (Scotland) - 26/02/17 - 3 Miles - Helen (Molly)

The Pine forest above the Lochanhully Macdonald resort.
Well for one I didn't have any matches, and two I didn't know what the second instruction meant anyway.
A Cairngorms viewpoint, above Carrbridge golf course.
An information plaque all about Carrbridge.
In order to give a little background to the plaque, they built this bridge.
and then we discovered this Owl sanctuary.

The Lily Loch and Loch an Eilein (Circular) - Cairgorms (Scotland) - 25/02/17 - 6 Miles - Heleney, Ally, Shelley (Molly and Beeeey)

Our newest member takes a dip in the Loch.
Whilst other new(ish) members strike up a pose by the water.
Not forgetting these two regulars.
Oh yea, and me of course.
The map was in Scottish (or my glasses needed cleaning).
Meanwhile Helen admired the views.
While I was left to carry the Golf clubs.
